Field trip by Maui Waena’s Hawaiian Club

2010 Hawaiiana Club

A video published by Friends of the D.T. Fleming Arboretum at Pu’u Mahoe

The Hawaiiana Club, led by Kumu Marie Biga, has made Pu’u Mahoe and the D.T. Fleming Arboretum their annual field trip for the last three years. We were honored by their return in March for a fun filled day learning about native plants and their importance in traditional Hawaiian culture while hiking the Fleming Arboretum. This event was an opportunity to put in video a special day for the Hawaiiana Club of Maui Waena School, highlighted by their performance of Hawaiian song and dance.

This video was created to share the unique educational opportunities at Pu’u Mahoe for the preservation of Hawaii’s cultural and natural resources.

Friends of the D.T. Fleming Arboretum is committed to developing Pu’u Mahoe’s unlimited potential to benefit Hawai’i and Hawaii’s people.
